The meaning of life orientations of married persons in the context of their functional-role interaction

The article discusses the peculiarities of life-sense orientations of married people. It presents the results of theoretical and empirical research of life-sense orientations of women and men who are in authoritarian or egalitarian marriage. In the article there are analyzed gender differences in life-sense orientations of married people.The author examines life-sense orientations as determinants of individual's activity, including marital activity. Since relationships with significant others (spouse) greatly influence the personality and his or her functioning, the author supposes, that research of life-sense orientation of married couple will help to understand better their features and prevent conflicts in marriage.
