Research Ethical Approval Policy
The Journal adheres to the national legislation of Ukraine and international ethical standards for conducting scientific research. All materials submitted for publication involving human participants (including surveys, interviews, observations, experiments), animals, biological materials, or personal/confidential data must comply with legal requirements regarding personal data protection, bioethics, and human rights.
1. Mandatory Ethical Approval
If a manuscript includes results from research involving humans or animals, the Editorial Board requires authors to provide copies of approvals from Bioethics Committees (Commissions).
-
Documentary Evidence: Approvals must be official documents (certificates, extracts from protocols, or statements) that are formally registered and signed by authorized individuals (e.g., a decision by the Bioethics Committee for Scientific Research of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv).
-
Submission Procedure: A copy of the approval must be submitted alongside the manuscript as a separate file (labeled as "Research Materials").
2. Author Obligations
Authors are required to:
-
Obtain prior ethical clearance from an authorized body (Institutional Review Board, Bioethics Commission, etc.).
-
Include an "Ethics Statement" section within the text of the article, specifying the name of the approving body, the date, and the protocol number.
-
Confirm the receipt of informed consent from all human participants involved in the study.
-
Guarantee the anonymity and confidentiality of personal data throughout the research and publication process.
-
Provide a reasoned explanation if the study did not require formal ethical approval according to institutional or national guidelines.
3. Editorial Rights
The Editorial Board reserves the right to withdraw a manuscript from consideration or reject it if the author fails to provide the required permits or if violations of ethical standards are identified. The ultimate responsibility for the authenticity of approvals and the compliance of the research with legal norms rests solely with the authors.
