Background. The article presents the results of a study of the concepts of body awareness and emotional regulation. The purpose of the study is to identify the specifics of the relationship between body awareness and emotional regulation difficulties in women in order to develop recommendations for overcoming these difficulties. Methods. To solve the tasks, the work used methods of theoretical and empirical research: a) theoretical methods analysis, classification, generalization made it possible to scientifically and theoretically substantiate the data we received; b) empirical methods – diagnostic methods: body awareness questionnaire MAIA-2ukr (Mehling, adaptation in Ukrainian); emotional regulation difficulties scale DERS (Gratz & Roemer); positive and negative affect questionnaire OPANA (adaptation of PANAS), comparative analysis of research results, mathematical methods of data processing. Results. During this study, it was found that the features of the structure of bodily awareness and the difficulties of emotional regulation depend on the presence of experience of body-oriented practices. The use of valid psychodiagnostic instruments ensured the reliability of the results obtained and made it possible to cover three levels of functioning: bodily, emotional-regulatory, and affective. Conclusions. It has been determined that corporeality is an important component of mental functioning and a significant condition for the formation of adaptive mechanisms of emotional regulation. The phenomenon of interoception, which encompasses a person's ability to recognize and interpret signals from their own body, has a direct impact on emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses. A review of current research in the field of embodiment emphasizes that body awareness acts as an internal resource of stability and support, which contributes to the regulation of emotional states, increased resilience to stress, and maintenance of psychological well-being.Downloads
