Abstract

This review focuses on Mykola Slyusarevsky’s monograph Public Opinion and Horizons of Education (Kyiv: Talkom, 2024), which examines the phenomenon of public opinion in the context of educational transformations and social dynamics. The review highlights the revival of Gabriel Tarde’s social ideas—particularly his concepts of imitation, micro-behavior, and public exchange—which acquire new relevance in the digital age. Tarde’s ideas are presented as a methodological foundation for analyzing contemporary social practices, digital platforms, and the algorithmization of social life, while also being related to the Ukrainian research context, where public opinion emerges as a key factor in educational reforms and broader societal change.
